Cosmetic Dentistry in Essex

Teeth pick up the marks of a life well-lived. Over time, they gather stains, lose their brightness, and develop the chips and wear that come with years of use. If you’re looking at your smile and seeing something you’d rather change, dental veneers offer one of the most comprehensive cosmetic solutions available.

Patients from Chelmsford come to SmileHQ in Brentwood for veneer treatments that genuinely transform smiles, and we’re just 15 minutes from Chelmsford city centre. Our cosmetic team, led by Dr Pola Reza, has designed and placed hundreds of veneers across Essex, consistently delivering results that are natural, beautiful, and built to last.

Whether you’re looking to correct a single damaged tooth or redesign your entire smile, our team will work with you to create exactly the result you’re imagining.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

A dental veneer is an ultra-thin shell, typically porcelain, applied to the front and sides of a natural tooth. Custom-made to your exact specifications in shade, shape, and size, veneers are one of the most powerful tools in cosmetic dentistry.

Veneers can address multiple concerns simultaneously:

Porcelain veneers are crafted by specialist dental technicians to achieve a completely lifelike appearance, including the translucency, texture, and light-reflecting properties of natural enamel.

  • Cracked, chipped, or worn teeth
  • Persistent stains and discolouration
  • Slightly misaligned or uneven teeth
  • Gaps and spacing issues
  • Short, small, or disproportionate teeth

The Benefits of Dental Veneers

Instant Confidence

The change in how you feel about your smile when you see your veneers for the first time is immediate and profound. Patients consistently describe it as one of the most impactful things they’ve done for their self-confidence.

Versatile and Natural

Veneers address multiple aesthetic concerns in a single treatment. By customising the shade, shape, and size of each veneer, we create a result that enhances your smile while looking completely, naturally yours.

Quick and Simple

The veneer placement process typically involves two appointments: one for preparation and impressions, and one for fitting. Complex smile redesigns require more planning, but the treatment itself is straightforward and well-tolerated.

A Brighter Dental Future

Porcelain veneers create a smooth, stain-resistant surface over your natural tooth. They’re also highly resistant to the staining that affects natural enamel, providing not just an immediate improvement, but a lasting one.

Placing Your Veneers

The veneer placement process begins with a thorough consultation. We discuss your aesthetic goals in detail, take photographs and digital scans, and design your veneers to achieve your planned result.

For porcelain veneers, if required, a very small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth surface to create room for the veneer to sit flush and natural. Impressions are taken and sent to our specialist dental laboratory, where your custom veneers are crafted. A temporary veneer is worn in the interim. At your second appointment, the finished veneers are bonded permanently to your teeth.

For composite veneers, the process is completed entirely in a single appointment, composite resin is applied and sculpted directly onto the tooth, with no laboratory stage required.

This is a wonderful practice. I was seen at short notice because I was in pain and could not get an appointment with my regular dentist and it was well worth the one hour journey to get there. Dr Sasha, Nurse Stephie and Holly and Claire on reception could not have been more welcoming and kind. I had x Ray and antibiotics and everything was unhurried and explained in detail. Thank you all so much.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many veneers will I need?

This depends entirely on your goals, with some patients wanting to address a single damaged tooth and others choosing to veneer the full smile, and we will discuss the optimal number at consultation, always recommending the minimum necessary to achieve your desired result.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With proper care and regular check-ups, porcelain veneers typically last 15-20 years or longer, while composite veneers have a slightly shorter lifespan of 5-10 years but can be repaired or refreshed more easily.

What’s the difference between veneers and composite bonding?

Composite bonding sculpts resin directly onto the tooth in one appointment (ideal for targeted repairs and corrections), whereas veneers are custom-crafted laboratory pieces that cover the full tooth surface and are better suited to comprehensive smile redesigns requiring durable, long-lasting results with maximum aesthetic precision.

What is the cost of dental veneers at SmileHQ?

Cost depends on the number of teeth, the type of veneer (porcelain vs composite), and the preparatory work required, and we provide a personalised quote during your consultation with no obligation.
