How Fixed Braces Work
Fixed braces consist of brackets attached to your teeth. We thread a wire through the brackets. Tension along this wire causes your teeth to move. We’ll adjust this tension throughout your treatment, guiding your teeth into the perfect position.
We can use fixed braces to fix the following:

Consultation
We’ll begin your fixed brace treatment by assessing your jaw and teeth. Understanding your needs helps us plan every step of your smile journey.
During this consultation, we’ll discuss your treatment in-depth and you can put questions, concerns and queries to opur team, led by multi-award-winning orthodontic specialist Dr Jeet Parekh.
Treatment durations vary depending on the severity of your case. We’ll let you know your expected treatment length during this consultation.
Fitting
We’ll invite you back to the clinic for your brace fitting later.
During your treatment, it’s essential to maintain high standards of dental hygiene and avoid eating or chewing anything that could damage your brace.
Adjustments
We’ll adjust your brace periodically to get the best results from your treatment. Increasing the tension on the wire will move your teeth closer to their end goal.
These appointments also let us check on your progress.
Your New Smile
Finally, when your teeth reach their desired position, we can remove your brace. We’ll give you a retainer to wear to preserve the results of your treatment.
