If you’ve ever spotted small amounts of blood on your toothpaste or had inflammation in your gums, then you’ve possibly had gingivitis. Although this is an easily treatable condition, it’s important to seek our help. Untreated gingivitis can progress to periodontitis—a much more problematic condition.

Prevention is always better than the cure. We’d rather check your gum health and treat any warning signs early. To ensure this happens, we recommend visiting us for regular dental checkups.
Often, through improved oral hygiene, we can address mild gum disease and prevent it from becoming worse. Where gingivitis has progressed, we may recommend techniques like root planing to improve your gum health.
Root planing is a deep clean for your gums. We’ll clean below the gum line and remove any plaque and tartar that’s built up around the root of your teeth.
Once you’ve had root planing, periodontal pockets will shrink, closing the gap between your teeth and gums while reducing the chances of bone loss.
